The Science
Behind Glider AI
Hiring and workforce decisions should be evidence-based. Glider AI skills validation capabilities were built on industrial-organizational psychology, psychometric science, and applied performance analytics.
Every assessment, interview, and integrity check is engineered to measure what actually predicts success on the job. We do not guess. We measure.

Intuition Does Not Scale.
The cost of a bad hire is measurable. Research shows it can exceed 1.4x annual salary. Unstructured hiring methods create:

The Glider AI Difference
Built on Academic Best Practices and Practical, Real-World Application.
Learn moreOur CEO’s prior venture established early frameworks in skill simulation and assessment science. Glider AI extends that foundation into a unified Skills Validation Platform that evaluates:
Structured. Validated. Continuously Calibrated.
Role & Skill Deconstruction
We begin by mapping the role to measurable competencies and outcomes. Every assessment and interview is aligned to defined performance criteria, not generic skill lists. Clear job definitions reduce bias and strengthen validity.

Expert-Led Content Development
Assessments are developed by internal I/O psychologists and external subject matter experts. Each item undergoes:
- Qualitative review (relevance, clarity, domain coverage)
- Quantitative expert agreement validation
- Iterative refinement
- Tryout with representative populations
If expert consensus is not reached, the item is rejected. More than 1,000 external experts contribute to content validation.

Reliability You Can Measure
Reliability refers to consistency in measurement. Glider assessments demonstrate:
- Strong test–retest reliability (Spearman-Brown coefficients ~.82 in sample data)
- High internal consistency (Cronbach’s alpha ~.80)
We conduct continuous item analysis evaluating
- Item difficulty
- Discrimination indices
- Point biserial correlations
- Distractor functionality
Items that do not meet performance standards are revised or removed.

Validity That Predicts Performance
Validity measures whether an assessment measures what it claims to measure. Glider demonstrates:
- Content validity across 400+ technical and domain skills
- Inter-rater agreement averaging approximately 77%
- Predictive validity showing candidates who clear Glider assessments are 3.6x more likely to be successfully placed
Assessment outcomes correlate with real-world performance.

Everything You Need to Know
Evidence based hiring means every hiring decision, from who gets an interview to who gets an offer, is backed by data that has been tested for reliability and validity, rather than relying on resume keywords, gut feel, or unstructured interview impressions.
Reliability measures whether an assessment produces consistent results, for example whether a candidate would score similarly on a retest. Validity measures whether the assessment actually predicts something real, such as job performance. An assessment can be reliable without being valid, so Glider AI assessments are built and tested to satisfy both standards before they are used for hiring decisions.
Glider AI tests reliability using methods such as test retest reliability, which compares scores across repeated attempts, and inter rater reliability, which checks agreement between different human reviewers scoring the same interview. Current benchmarks average Spearman Brown coefficients around .82 for test retest reliability and approximately 77 percent agreement between raters.
Industry estimates put the cost of a single bad hire at around 1.4 times that employee's annual salary once recruiting spend, onboarding time, lost productivity, and team disruption are counted, which is why predictive, valid assessments pay for themselves quickly.
Each assessment starts with a structured breakdown of the actual skills a role requires, is written or reviewed by subject matter experts and industrial organizational psychologists, and is checked against real performance outcomes before it is trusted for hiring decisions.
Standardized, criterion valid assessments reduce reliance on subjective signals such as resume format or interview rapport, which are common sources of bias, and instead score every candidate against the same, job relevant criteria.
Structured scoring rubrics and rater calibration bring inter rater agreement to roughly 77 percent on average, meaning two different interviewers scoring the same candidate are likely to reach a similar conclusion, unlike unscored, free form interviews.
Skills based hiring evaluates candidates on demonstrated ability in the specific skills a role needs, covering more than 400 technical and domain areas on the Glider AI platform, rather than filtering primarily on degrees or years of experience, which widens the qualified candidate pool without lowering the bar.
Reliable. Valid. Defensible.
Glider AI delivers scientifically grounded, performance-aligned talent evaluation designed for enterprise hiring and workforce development.
